NBTA Foundation Fundraising Campaign Surpasses Goals

In March 2003, the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) Foundation launched a capital campaign to renew at least $4 million in support for the Foundation to maintain its mission through 2008. It was also mandated that at least 75 percent of all capital gifts made in support of the Foundation’s mission be spent directly on programs and initiatives that benefit the members of NBTA and the business travel industry as a whole.

The campaign, aptly entitled Business Travel Today and Tomorrow, is entering into its last year as a rousing success, according to Daphne Bryant, Foundation Director. Thanks to the generosity of more than 50 corporate sponsors, NBTA Chapters and hundreds of individual donors, the campaign surpassed its original goals by raising more than $5 million and spending nearly 87 percent of every capital dollar committed by its supporters on efforts that have had a direct and measurable effect on the entire business travel industry.

Registered Travelers Satisfied with Service

When Carol Kaufman arrived at San Francisco International Airport for a red-eye to the East Coast, the security line of what seemed to be more than 200 people long would have generally provoked an unfavorable and stressful reaction. Instead, she proceeded directly to the Registered Traveler lane, where she breezed through security in less than two minutes. The Registered Traveler (RT) lanes at SFO and several other airports are operated by Verified Identity Pass, Inc.’s Clear ® program. Another TSA-approved  RT provider -- FLO™ (Fast Lane Option) -- registered subscribers at the 2007 NBTA International Convention & Exhibition in Boston.

"My Clear Registered Traveler card sped me through the process! I was able to use my time at the airport more efficiently, and it made my travel experience much less stressful,” said Kaufman, Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs at The Cooper Companies and frequent business traveler.
