NBTA Asia Pacific recently appointed seven corporate travel supplier professionals to its new Allied Leadership Committee (ALC). The Committee will serve as representatives for the association’s Allied (travel supplier) members, working enhance relationships with corporate travel professionals throughout the region.
In an effort to seek ALC members, the association’s board in May called for expressions of interest from current Allied members in the planning for current and future association direction. Strong feedback was received and, after careful consideration, the ALC was officially founded.
“This new Committee was been asked to act as a voice for the Allied community within the Asia Pacific region and ensure a strong relationship between travel suppliers and buyers, addressing common interested facing the travel industry,” said Karen Davies, NBTA Asia Pacific Regional Director.
The Committee, to be made up of representatives from varied industry segments including airlines, hotel, ground transportation, and technology suppliers, will focus heavily on reinforcing the value of NBTA Asia Pacific Allied membership to regional business travel suppliers and address the benefits of Direct membership, as well.
The following NBTA Asia Pacific Allied members have been appointed to the current Allied Leadership Committee:
- Adrian Jenkinson, Head of Travel Agency Partnerships, Global Commercial Cards, American Express
- David Lorimer, Manager Government Travel Strategy, America Express Business Travel
- Margaret Newbigin, General Manager Sales & Marketing, HRG Australia
- Tony O’Connor, Consultant, Butler Caroye
- Richard Savva, CEO, Voyager Travel
- Tricia Steeden, Consultant, TMS Travel Management Solutions Pty Ltd
- Vanessa Young, Manager Corporate & Government Sales, Australian & New Zealand
“The commitment of these individuals and their organisations to NBTA Asia Pacific is appreciated,” said Davies. “The NBTA Asia Pacific Board and members look forward to working with this Allied group to provide the voice of our Allied members to ensure NBTA Asia Pacific remains progressive and competitive.”
Each member of the ALC, which is to consist of no more than seven individuals from separate organizations, will serve for two years. They are asked to participate in at least four planning meetings a year, and must commit to attend each.
