Consider the Benefits: 
Technologies for Managed Corporate Travel Programs

It's not surprising some travel managers feel 'overwhelmed' by the numerous travel technologies available in the marketplace today. Deciding whether or not to implement technology can lead to a lot of questions…

"Does my company really need this technology?"
"Is implementing new technology the best use of my time and resources?"
"Will the return on investment be a success story to executive management?"
"What if this technology uncovers more gaps in my program?"

There are many reasons companies choose to invest resources in travel technology. Some of the most common ones are containing costs, increasing policy compliance, mitigating risk exposure and better serving the travellers. To help answer the travel technology questions, the NBTA Technology Committee compiled various travel technologies, from commonly used technology to some rather obscure ones, and their benefit to a managed corporate travel program.

North East Chapter Tour: On the Road with NBTA Government Relations

 

NBTA’s Government Relations department recently wrapped up a tour to several NBTA Chapters in the U.S. Northeast Corridor, discussing with more than 200 NBTA and Chapter members Washington’s impact on the business travel community and actions corporate travel professionals can take to be heard.

 

First stop on the tour was Buffalo, New York, where NBTA Government Relations Consultant Stewart Verdery visited with the New York State Business Travel Association to discuss NBTA’s involvement in several key issues being considered by Congress and the Administration, including rental car excise taxes, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization, Secure Flight and Registered Traveler.

NBTA Officers' Blog Opens New Line of Communication

NBTA President and CEO Kevin Maguire, CCTE, and Vice President Michael Lyons, CCTE, have created a blog as another way to communicate with NBTA members and the broader corporate travel industry. Appropriately entitled At the Gate, the blog will allow members to engage in informal discussions about current industry issues and business travel events around the world, allowing for all to share their personal and professional thoughts and options.

NBTA Launches Online CCTE Class 

For the first time in the history of the certification course recognized throughout the business travel industry -- the Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE) program -- a cohort group will meet online to complete one of the two required CCTE Core Weeks. The inaugural CCTE Core Week 2 online will begin October 22. The format will include four modules, each completed over a two-week period, with individual study, online collaboration and a webcast as part of each module.
