NBTA

Listserv Rules and Etiquette

Please take your time to review and adhere to these rules for your benefit, as well as the benefit of all Interact Listserv members.

  • Confidentiality - The Interact Listserv is a valuable and widely used tool for all NBTA Direct Members. NBTA ensures that only Direct members can subscribe to the list. NBTA expects and believes its members will uphold and adhere to the confidentiality rules described here; however, members who post items to this forum do so at their own risk. No one should feel that there is an absolute guarantee that any messages they post will not be forwarded to third parties. Emails sent through this listserve are no different than any other emails -- they can be easily forwarded and the individual(s) who forwards them may be impossible to trace. Please note that posting messages to any electronic forum -- even one with limited access, such as the Interact Listserve -- carries similar risks, and exposes the sender to possible action as a result of statements made which are libelous, are seen as an attempt to restrain trade, or a host of other reasons.
  • Solicitation - The Interact Listserv is to be used as an information resource.  It is not to be used for solicitation purposes.  Anyone suspected of using the listserv for solicitation purposes will be removed immediately.
  • Subscription/activation - The Interact Listserv is a self-administration tool. Each member is able to deactivate and reactivate his or her membership to the list by using their email, Interact password and the URL sent on the day of subscription. Members are asked to deactivate before setting their e-mail options to "out-of-office."
  • Content and "me toos" - The Interact is a tool for corporate travel professionals to exchange best practices and ideas. Please limit the content of the messages to topics related to travel management. Do not send "me too" messages when asking for something another person already requested. Redundant messages clog inboxes and make it more difficult to sift through important messages.
  • Personal conversation - If you intend to reply to only one person, please e-mail the person directly, not via the Interact.

Thank you for respecting the Listserv etiquette. NBTA strives to keep this a valuable resource to all Direct members and we appreciate your help in doing so.
