Global Leadership Professional Program

The Global Leadership Professional (GLP) program is a master's level executive education program developed by the NBTA Foundation in conjunction with The Wharton School.  It is the only master's level accredited course offered within the business travel industry, and is designed to build upon NBTA's Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE) program.

The focus of the GLP Program is strategic. It is more than a travel management program; it uses an interdisciplinary approach that addresses both the opportunities and challenges of conducting business in today's environment. The program aims to provide individuals with the keys to create value for corporations and customers, and to inspire professional achievement.

The NBTA Foundation and The Wharton School provide a certificate of professional development to participants who successfully complete four sessions within twenty-four months, including at least one session in three of the four main competencies.

  • Leadership
  • Management
  • Finance
  • Marketing

Participants in the program also have the opportunity to further their experience in the program by earning the Global Leadership Professional (GLP) designation.  The new designation was created in response to significant demand from those who had completed GLP coursework to expand upon that knowledge base through project-based work. The GLP designation is available to corporate travel professionals who have completed the GLP certificate of professional development and successfully completed an industry-related project, the findings of which are shared with the business travel community during a session at the NBTA International Convention & Exposition.
