Inaugural Asia Pacific-Focused Certification Course to be Held at IT&CMA & CTW Asia-Pacific in Bangkok on 6-7 October 2008
Alexandria, Virginia and Singapore, Thailand (May 22, 2008) – The National Business Travel Association, in partnership with TTG Asia Media, will offer NBTA’s Fundamentals of Business Management/CTE course for the first time in the Asia Pacific region at the 2008 IT&CMA & CTW Asia-Pacific event in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 6, 2008. This one-day workshop, designed as a guide to the primary components of managed travel, has been structured and formatted to suit the needs of travel professional in the Asia Pacific region.
“The Asia Pacific market is thriving, and business travel is on a steady rise throughout the region,” said NBTA President and CEO Kevin Maguire. “Corporations in this flourishing region now more than ever need to become more knowledgeable about the value of managed travel. NBTA is excited to partner with TTG to provide this regionalized course to corporate travel professionals as an introduction to business travel management.”
The Fundamentals course teaches participants how to maximize costs, improve efficiency and create a managed travel culture within their companies. Attendees will interact with an expert course facilitator on travel safety and security, travel spending trends and benchmark metrics. An overview of business travel technology will be included, along with a comprehensive discussion on travel policy implementation, savings opportunities and calculation of Return on Investment (ROI) of a managed travel program.

Attendees who successfully complete the Fundamentals of Business Travel Management course will be eligible to earn the Corporate Travel ExpertSM (CTE) designation by passing the CTE exam.
“Carrying the CTE designation following your name shows that you have mastered the fundamental principals and practice of corporate travel management,” said Maguire. “By taking this course, corporate travel professionals in the Asia Pacific region will not only prove to their companies the importance of managed travel, but they will also take a large step in advancing their careers.”
NBTA also partners with TTG Asia Media to organize and host the annual Corporate Travel & Technology World China (CT&TW China) in Shanghai. Business travel professionals from across the Asia Pacific region and throughout the world attend CT&TW China to discuss the latest developments in the Chinese corporate travel industry. The 2008 CT&TW, held 8-9 April, will be attended by more than 260 corporate travel buyers and suppliers.
