NBTA Evaluates the “State of the U.S. Business Travel Union”

Report Card Grades Congress, the Administration on Key Business Travel Issues

The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) published its "Business Travel Government Affairs Report Card" today. As the nation awaits President Bush’s State of the Union address, the NBTA report card looks at the state of the most important business travel issues facing the U.S. government.

The overall grade earned by the performance of Congress and the Administration in 2007 is a C+. NBTA graded the progress made in 2007 on the following issues and made recommendations for 2008 on each:

Domestic U.S. Registered Traveler C

Traveler Taxes B-
Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) B+
