Milan, Italy, and Alexandria, VA, USA (September 24, 2007) -- The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) – a global business travel organization based in the United States with members in 30 countries and regional affiliates in Asia Pacific, Canada and Mexico – today announced that nine other corporate travel organizations have signed on as partners for a new type of European business travel conference. A total of ten organizations based in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, and the United States will co-host Crossroads Milan -- Paragon Business Travel Conference & Expo, to be held May 15-16, 2008 in Milan. With support from across Europe, the event will be designed to provide the European business travel professional community with education sessions and an exposition tailored to meet their needs.
In addition to NBTA, co-hosts will include the following organizations:
- Austrian Business Travel Association (ABTA)
- Belgian Association of Travel Management (BATM)
- Brazilian Business Travel Association (ABGEV)
- Danish Business Travel Association (DBTA)
- Finnish Business Travel Association (FBTA)
- Business Travel Association of Germany (VDR)
- Iberian Business Travel Association (IBTA)
- Netherlands Association for Travel Management (NATM)
- Swedish Business Travel Association (SBTA)
The groups will all be represented at Crossroads Milan, and will support the event in their respective markets. The event name builds on “Paragon Partnership,” the name of the global alliance of buyer-driven business travel associations that counts as members most of the groups that are co-hosting Crossroads Milan. A multi-national educational committee comprised of representatives from several co-hosting organizations will shape the program’s content.
“NBTA is proud to partner with these nine business travel groups to make Crossroads Milan a uniquely multi-national program with a pan-European corporate travel focus,” said NBTA President & CEO, Kevin Maguire, CCTE. “The participating organizations serve members with multinational travel programs, and Europe is the second largest business travel market in the world, so we see this as an opportunity to provide resources and opportunities for travel management professionals to advance their knowledge and their careers.”
He continued, “I want to thank our partners – ABGEV, ABTA, BATM, DBTA, FBTA, IBTA, NATM, SBTA, and VDR – for their support. Together we will create a unique multinational event to benefit the European business travel community.”
