In a Thanksgiving food drive, NBTA’s 28-member staff donated a collective 691 pounds of food to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). It was the largest donation received by the regional food bank from a company during the year. In this effort, the staff is donating goods such as bikes, toys, books, musical instruments, clothes, winter coats and other household items to a family that might not otherwise have gifts during the holiday season.
At the NBTA 2006 International Convention & Exposition, hosted in Chicago, the association also presented a $5,200 check, a one-dollar donation on behalf of each attendee of the event, to general session speaker former President George H.W. Bush for the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund.
