Houston, TX (November 16, 2006) – The National Business Travel Association (NBTA), the voice of corporate travel on Capitol Hill, will host 45 travel professionals today and tomorrow at the Woodlands Resort in Houston for the 3rd Annual NBTA Political Action Committee Golf Tournament & Education Forum. The two-day event offers attendees the opportunity to network with their colleagues and partake in a half-day education session designed to teach corporate travel suppliers and buyers how to make their voice heard in the political arena.
NBTA President and CEO Suzanne Fletcher remarked, “NBTA is pleased to be the only association in the corporate travel industry that has a political action committee formed to help elect pro-business travel candidates to federal office. Through the generous donations of our members to NBTAPAC, the association has led the way in representing the industry on key issues on Capitol Hill, such as air travel security fees, the Registered Traveler program and the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. The NBTAPAC Golf Tournament & Education Forum offers corporate travel buyers and suppliers the ideal opportunity to learn more about the legislative process, and how they can become more involved in supporting business travel issues in the government, as well as network with their peers.”
Personal contributions made to NBTAPAC help support the election of candidates for federal office from both sides of the aisle who understand the value of business travel and the corporate travel profession. NBTAPAC hosts numerous fundraising events throughout the year, including at the annual NBTA International Convention & Exposition. NBTA members interested in becoming involved with NBTAPAC may do by visiting www.nbta.org/Government/NBTAPAC.
The NBTAPAC Golf Tournament & Education Forum is sponsored through the generosity of Champion and Continental Airlines.
