Alexandria, VA (October 11, 2006) – The National Business Travel Association (NBTA), the leading provider of education for the corporate travel industry, announces it will host a day-long informational session, titled “Generations in the Workplace,” on Tuesday, October 17 in Richmond, VA. The event, which also counts as an elective credit for NBTA’s Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE) program, will provide attendees tips and best practices for developing successful intergenerational teams. A number of NBTA regional Chapters will also be offering education sessions eligible for CCTE elective credits throughout October. The CCTE program is the industry’s only professional certification program.
NBTA President and CEO Suzanne Fletcher commented, “Today’s workplace is as diverse as ever. This diversity can be a challenge for managers as they strive to foster a team environment while addressing the individual needs of each generation. NBTA is pleased to offer its members and the corporate travel industry the opportunity to learn more about effectively managing each generation so they may build stronger corporate travel departments and sales forces.”
Thomas Gardner, a renowned management and professional development consultant, will lead the discussion. Throughout his 25-year career, Gardner has cultivated expertise in organizational transformation, process facilitation, management and leadership development, team building and organizational learning, business process redesign and continuous quality improvement.
