NBTA Announces Staffing Changes Designed to Further the Association’s Mission

Alexandria, VA (September 21, 2006) – The National Business Travel Association (NBTA), the leading provider of corporate travel education, advocacy, news, resources and networking, is pleased to announce several new hires, including two newly created positions.

John Mamone, CPA, CAE, joined NBTA as Senior Director of Finance & Administration; Robin Roane, CCTE, CMP, as Senior Manager of Membership. 

Mamone brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing finances and administrative tasks for non-profit associations.  In his new role, Mamone will oversee all financial and administrative aspects of NBTA, including financial management, personnel and office administration.  Prior to NBTA, he served as CFO for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. 

Roane, as a long-time Allied member of NBTA, brings significant knowledge of the corporate travel industry to her new position.  She most recently served as Secretary/Treasurer of the association’s Chapter’s Presidents Council and has held various positions throughout her membership within local chapters of NBTA.  Prior to NBTA, Roane served as a Senior Account Executive for Market Sales at the Houston Marriott. 

NBTA also added two new positions that will help advance the association’s position as the leading advocate for the corporate travel industry and its growing role as a provider of internationally focused networking and educational events.  Downey will serve as State and Local Government Relations Specialist.  In this role, he will focus on continuing NBTA’s campaign to raise awareness of the impact of excessive travel taxes on business. As a Global Relations Coordinator, Winn will assist in the expansion of NBTA’s global presence.

NBTA President and CEO Suzanne Fletcher commented, “NBTA is pleased to welcome these professionals to our staff.  Their knowledge and expertise will undoubtedly aid NBTA as we continue expanding and improving the services we offer our corporate travel and supplier members.”
