Association and its Chapters donate goods, money to charity

Alexandria, VA (December 15, 2005) – The National Business Travel Association (NBTA), the leading association for corporate travel managers and suppliers, and its Chapters are proud to give back to the community through involvement in a number of charity programs during the holiday season.
NBTA this year contributed $12,500, a $5 donation on behalf of each of its members, to the American Red Cross in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The organization also matched the hurricane relief contributions of staff, while NBTA Chapters around the country gave generously to the relief and rebuilding efforts. In total, NBTA, its staff and its Chapters donated more than $21,000 to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The association’s staff also donated 535 pounds of non-perishable items to the Capitol Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C., and is hosting a toy drive throughout the holiday season. Additional charities benefiting from the generosity of NBTA’s chapters and members include the following:
