Alexandria, VA (August 22, 2005) – Bill Connors, CTC, executive director and COO of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), has been appointed to the United States Chamber of Commerce’s Association Committee of 100 for the 2005-2006 year. The committee, founded in 1958, represents leading association executives in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Members of the Association Committee of 100 contribute to expanding the group’s lobbying and coalition work and enhance business and association outreach efforts.
Connors remarked, “It’s an honor to be included amongst the members of this elite group of association executives. NBTA’s representation on the committee gives corporate travel managers yet another voice in Washington and will help ensure that business travel is fairly represented in the Chamber’s lobbying efforts.”
Connors joined NBTA, the leading source for networking, advocacy, education, news and information resources for corporate and government travel professionals, in December 2002. NBTA has established itself as the voice of corporate travel in Washington. Connors has previously testified before Senate and House committees on topics including the Registered Traveler program and taxes and fees imposed on travel purchases. In addition to his appointment to the Association Committee of 100, Connors serves on the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NGATS) Institute Management Council, the Travel Business Roundtable and the Government Relations Committee of the Travel Industry Association of America’s Travel Industry Leaders Coalition.
The National Business Travel Association is the source for critical information on the business travel industry. For more than 35 years, NBTA has dedicated itself to the professional development of its members through advocacy, education and training, and networking opportunities. NBTA represents over 2,500 corporate and government travel managers and travel service providers, who collectively manage and direct more than $170 billion of expenditures within the business travel industry.
