San Diego, CA (August 17, 2005) -- Fifty-six corporate travel professionals graduated from the National Business Travel Association’s (NBTA) Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE) program during NBTA’s 37th Annual Convention and Trade Show this week at the San Diego Convention Center.

“I want to extend warm congratulations to the 56 industry colleagues who earned the CCTE designation this week,” said NBTA Chairman/Past President, Carol A. Devine, CCTE. “CCTE is recognized throughout the corporate travel industry as an indicator of a travel management expert. These graduates have completed a rigorous course, including two separate weeks of classroom instruction, a selection of electives and an exam. They have certainly earned the title ‘Certified Corporate Travel Executive.’”

NBTA offers the CCTE program in conjunction with the University of Houston’s Conrad Hilton College of Hotel & Restaurant Management. CCTE students learn financial management techniques, control procedures and business strategies in order to better design travel programs that help companies meet strategic goals.

CCTE, the only travel management certification program available in the industry, is the middle level of NBTA’s three-tiered professional development program. NBTA also offers CTE, which is a fundamentals of business travel management designation. NBTA’s foundation, the Institute of Business Travel Management, offers the Global Leadership Program, the industry’s only master’s-level education.
