San Diego, CA (August 16, 2005) -- National Business Travel Association (NBTA) President and CEO, Carol A. Devine, CCTE, awarded the annual President’s Award to Don Draves, Corporate Service Manager at Miller Brewing Company during a session at the association’s 37th Annual Convention and Trade Show in San Diego.

The President’s Award is presented each year by the NBTA President to recognize the outstanding contributions of an NBTA Direct Member who provides leadership and vision within NBTA and who advances the travel management industry.

Draves, a member of NBTA since 1986, handles a myriad of responsibilities for Miller Brewing Company, including business travel, printing and graphic services, dining and food services, mail services, stationary stores, shipping and receiving, and the Miller Employee Store. He has served NBTA and its members in a variety of roles, as well. From 2000 to 2003, Draves participated on NBTA’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and he currently serves on the association’s Legislative Advisory Council, a group responsible for guiding NBTA’s involvement in legislative issues such as the Registered Travel Program and biometric passport requirements. Prior to becoming involved with NBTA on the national level, Draves was one of the founding members of the Wisconsin Business Travel Association (WBTA) and held various officer positions with the chapter, including President and Chairman.

The NBTA Allied Leadership Council President, Thomas G. Milano, announced the Allied Member of the Year Award recipient as Trip Davis, President and CEO of TRX, an independent provider of technology solutions to the global travel industry. The award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an Allied member to NBTA and to the managed travel industry.

Davis was presented the award in acknowledgment of the time and talent he has exerted to pursuing efforts related to NBTA. His support of NBTA is exemplified by his work over the past three years as the Program Chair of the Masters Program, a forum for senior corporate travel executives held each year in affiliation with NBTA. Davis is instrumental to NBTA’s support of the Masters Program, ensuring that the program benefits the association and its members.

Devine commented, “I want to extend my congratulations to Don and Trip for being the recipients of these honors, and thank for them for the generous contributions to NBTA over the years. It’s through the efforts of members like Don and Trip that NBTA has been able to differentiate itself as the leading association in the corporate travel industry.”
