NBTA Applauds Members Recognized as Industry Leaders

Alexandria, VA (July 28, 2005) -- The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) congratulates several individual members of the Association who were recently named as industry leaders by Meeting News and Business Travel News

Meeting News selected among the “Top 25 Most Influential People in the Meeting Industry” the following members of NBTA:

  • Phil Dunphy, Director/Team Leader for Global Travel, Pfizer, Inc.
  • Kevin Iwamoto, Global Airlines, Car and Ground Commodity Manager, Hewlett-Packard Company, and NBTA Chairman/Past President
  • Jay Roseman, Vice President of Corporate Meeting Solutions, American Express Business Travel

Business Travel News recognized four members of NBTA as being among the five “Best Practitioners of Business for 2005”:

  • Cynthia Gillen, Director of Procurement and Travel Management, BDO Seidman
  • Brenda Jackson, Accounts Payable Analyst of Non-Inventory Payables, Sturtevant
  • Brian Nichols, Hotel and Ground Transportation Manager, Deloitte Services LP, and NBTA Hotel Committee Chair
  • Kevin Iwamoto, Global Airlines, Car and Ground Commodity Manager, Hewlett-Packard Company, and NBTA Chairman/Past President

The “Top 25 Most Influential” meeting professionals, compiled by Meeting News, highlights a group of leaders who have made a positive difference in the meeting industry.  Individuals included in this group have significantly influenced the direction of meeting programs at their respective organizations.  Business Travel News’ “Best Practitioners of Business Travel in 2005” recognizes five corporate travel managers whose work represents the best efforts of travel professionals and have made strides to improve practices and procedures at their respective companies.
