Alexandria, VA (July 12, 2005) -- The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) announces it has exceeded 100,000 net square feet of exhibitor space sold for the first time in 37 years of its annual Convention and Trade Show. At the 2005 NBTA Convention and Trade Show, August 14-17 in San Diego, exhibitors will present products and services and build relationships with travel managers from around the world.
NBTA President and CEO Carol A. Devine, CCTE, commented, “It’s exciting to see how the NBTA Convention and Trade Show has grown over the past few years. It is the premier travel management education and networking event, and it continues to improve each year.”
Surveys of travel buyers registered for previous NBTA Conventions have shown that four of five attend the event to learn about new products, services and technologies. Nearly 60 percent planned to find new suppliers at the show, and nearly 75 percent intended to strengthen existing vendor relationships.
Devine remarked, “The mix of more than 50 education sessions and many occasions for networking with exhibitors present a great opportunity for attendees to not only connect with their travel management peers, but also establish partnerships with suppliers. The NBTA Convention and Trade Show has long been considered the ‘must attend’ experience in the business travel management industry and we are continuing that tradition with this year’s event.”
The National Business Travel Association is the source for critical information on the business travel industry. For more than 35 years, NBTA has dedicated itself to the professional development of its members through advocacy, education and training, and networking opportunities. NBTA represents over 2,500 corporate and government travel managers and travel service providers, who collectively manage and direct more than $170 billion of expenditures within the business travel industry.
