Alexandria, VA (November 8, 2004) --The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) today unveiled its redesigned website, www.nbta.org. Visitors will find the new design and supporting technology provide new resources and make the site easier to navigate.
“We’re very excited about updating NBTA.org, a vital tool for communicating with our members and a resource for the entire business travel industry,” said NBTA President and CEO, Carol A. Devine, CCTE. “We look forward to building on this new design to continue meeting member needs.”
In addition to an updated look and feel, the new NBTA.org includes features that make it simple for users to find the information they seek. Content is grouped into the following channels, accessible through a navigational bar on every page: About NBTA; Education and Professional Development; Government Relations; Members; and Research and Publications. A new site search feature and a link to a site map appear on every page, giving visitors additional means to search or browse for content.
A new online Member Directory gives NBTA members instant access to contact information on business travel colleagues and the ability to update their own information in real time. The searchable, updatable Member Directory will compliment the printed NBTA Membership Directory & Buyer’s Guide.
With the new NBTA.org home page, the Association highlights key initiatives and information, including recent NBTA news and upcoming NBTA and industry events. A survey tool on the home page gives NBTA the ability to take the pulse of the corporate travel industry quickly, providing information that can be used to help the Association determine its approach to important issues, to educate members on industry trends, and to provide data to the media.
NBTA Daily News Brief
In conjunction with the new website, NBTA today launched its new daily industry news service for members. The NBTA Daily News Brief, which replaces the Travel Vault and NBTA Push News, provides member recipients with the most important corporate travel industry news and NBTA news stories of the day. Readers can choose between clicking to visit NBTA.org for summaries and clicking to read the full stories on news sites, such as USA Today, the Washington Post, Business Travel News and Business Travel Executive. Summaries will be listed on NBTA.org for one week.
“As the professional organization of corporate travel, NBTA aims to provide members with quick access to the news that helps them do their jobs,” said Devine. “The new NBTA Daily News Brief not only accomplishes that goal, it gives readers three levels of access – headlines, summaries or full stories – allowing our busy members to target the level of information they choose to read each day.”
The National Business Travel Association is the source for critical information on the business travel industry. For more than 35 years, NBTA has dedicated itself to the professional development of its members through advocacy, education and training, and networking opportunities. NBTA represents over 2,500 corporate travel managers and travel service providers, who collectively manage and direct more than $170 billion of expenditures within the business travel industry.
