August 5, 2004 (Orlando, FL) -- National Business Travel Association (NBTA) President and CEO, Carol A. Devine, CCTE, awarded the annual President’s Award to Kevin Iwamoto, NBTA Chairman & Past President and Hewlett-Packard Company Global Airline & Car Supplier Manager.

The President’s Award is presented each year by the NBTA President to recognize the outstanding contributions of an NBTA Direct Member who provides leadership and vision within NBTA and who advances the travel management industry.

Iwamoto is a travel industry veteran who began his career in airline sales and marketing. He left the airline industry to begin his career in travel management at The Walt Disney Company. After successfully managing Disney’s global hotel program, Iwamoto took a position in 1998 at Hewlett-Packard, where his responsibilities have included negotiating and creating a worldwide purchasing strategy for airline and car rental suppliers. He has assisted NBTA in increasing its global presence and speaks regularly at international business travel events. He has been recognized by Business Travel News as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Travel Executives and as the 2002 Travel Manager of the Year.

Iwamoto’s commitment to NBTA and to the global travel management industry led to his selection as this year’s President’s Award winner. He is a former President and multi-year Board Director for the Los Angeles Business Travel Association and has served as Committee Chairman for NBTA’s Aviation Committee. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Business Travel Management and was instrumental in the success of its most recent capital campaign. He served on the NBTA Board of Directors as Vice President, then President and now as Past President and Chairman.

The NBTA Allied Leadership Council President, Thomas G. Milano, presented the Allied Member of the Year Award to Pamela Arway, American Express Executive Vice President and General Manager, Corporate Travel North America. The award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an Allied member to NBTA and to the managed travel industry.

With more than 15 years experience in the corporate travel industry, Arway is a strong supporter of managed travel and the value it provides. She meets regularly with federal and state legislators and helps influence the policy agenda and advance the cause of the travel profession. As Steering Committee Chair of IBTM's Capital Campaign, "Business Travel Today and Tomorrow," she led the Foundation to raise an unprecedented $4.85 million for IBTM's educational mission, including a significant commitment from her company, American Express. She serves as key company executive at industry forums, press events and roundtables sharing American Express perspectives, as well as working to drive industry partnerships. Arway was chosen to receive the Allied Member of the Year award to recognize her leadership and commitment to advancing NBTA and IBTM.
