Orlando, FL (August 1, 2004) -- The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) 36th Annual Convention and Trade Show kicked off today, giving corporate travel managers and travel service providers the premier networking and educational opportunity of the year.

“NBTA is thrilled to provide this opportunity for colleagues from around the country and the world to ‘Make the Connection’ at a Convention flush with world-class speakers, seminars, and networking events,” said NBTA President and CEO, Carol A. Devine, CCTE. “Before the Convention even kicked off, the Institute of Business Travel Management and the Wharton School offered two days of masters-level education in the Global Leadership Program and NBTA provided three electives for those pursuing Certified Corporate Travel Executive certification.”

Devine continued, “As the Convention got started, the buzz was about the Technology Pavilion, sponsored by GetThere®, where attendees had a chance to see first-hand demonstrations of some of the latest offerings for travel managers. Tonight, the fun continues with the opening reception at the Universal Orlando CityWalk.”

Over the next three days, Convention attendees will attend seminar sessions featuring industry leaders and general sessions showcasing Al Roker, Steve Forbes, Mary Matalin and James Carville. Travel managers and suppliers will connect during the trade show featuring more than 400 exhibitors.

The National Business Travel Association is the source for critical information on the business travel industry. For more than 35 years, NBTA has dedicated itself to the professional development of its members through advocacy, education and training, and networking opportunities. NBTA represents over 2,500 corporate travel managers and travel service providers, who collectively manage and direct more than $170 billion of expenditures within the business travel industry.
