Alexandria, Virginia (March 2, 2004) -- The professional certification program of the National Business Travel Association will graduate its largest class ever at the association’s upcoming annual convention in Orlando, August 1-4.
“Interest among business travel professionals in achieving recognition for their expertise and dedication has resulted in explosive growth of our Certified Corporate Travel Executive Program,” said Kristi Long, NBTA director of education. “With an expected 60 individuals, we are on track to graduate our largest class ever!”
The CCTE designation is regarded as the business travel industry’s symbol of professionalism. It is reflective of an individual’s expertise in travel management and dedication to the advancement of the profession. The designation helps professionals manage the changing dynamics of business travel and technology, and can increase an individual’s value and marketability.
The certification program consists of three parts:
- Core Week 1 -- A weeklong intensive “core” training program is conducted on-site at the University of Houston.
- Core Week 2 -- A second core week of training can be taken either at the university, or accessed online beginning in the second half of 2004. [Note: on-site classes for Core Week 2 (March 4-9) are sold out; however, CCTE candidates may take the online version later in the year.]
- A series of 5 one-day seminars.
Written examinations are administered at the conclusion of each core week. NBTA offers preferred pricing for association members.
The National Business Travel Association is the source for critical information on the business travel industry. For more than 35 years, NBTA has dedicated itself to the professional development of its members through advocacy, education and training, and networking opportunities. NBTA represents over 2,400 corporate travel managers and travel service providers, who collectively manage and direct more than $170 billion of expenditures within the business travel industry.
